I Wish I Knew Then What I Know Now

I Wish I Knew Then What I Know Now

Apart from the late teenagers and those young adults who think they know it all, for the most part having grey hair has people affording you a little bit of respect, so they tend to listen when you have something to say. I always derive great pleasure out of coming out with something totally outrageous or silly when I’m expected to weigh-in on something which could very well use the input of a wise head, but it is indeed an honour.

It’s not so much about patting oneself on the back for having made it this far in life and for having acquired all the knowledge you have through experience, but rather just a matter of your destiny for the most part. I mean there are some peers of mine who departed this earth in the most untimely of manners, such when they were nearing retirement for example – this having planned and managed their lives so well at that.

Naturally this sequence of events points to the fact that an element of luck is required for one to get to a seemingly advanced stage in life such as the one I find myself in and for all the smarts you have and perhaps even your education, the experience you garner is a by-product of life. That’s all.

That’s why some people who live on the edge go on to live well into their 90s – it’s a matter of destiny. That’s also why I have some peers who played it really safe and yet they still departed this earth sooner than what you’d otherwise expect of someone who lives a generally very guarded, well-planned life.

So anyway, what I’m getting at is that as much knowledge and wisdom as those of us who have got on in the years have, the journey we had to go through and are still going through is what it’s all about. It’s something you have to experience as you try to make your way in this world and it wouldn’t have really made much of a difference had we known then what we know now.

The times we live in are dynamic in any case, so I might tell a young adult to put 40% of their income into Bitcoin but only after reading this Bitcoin Evolution Betrug (Bitcoin Evolution Scam article) because over the years, some advice has worked out really well for me financially. Yet it was only advice that proved to be solid in my specific case, but does that still apply now? It can be hard to say for sure.

However, there is some universal knowledge you seem to garner with experience – universal knowledge that transcends time and it’s simply this: you can never know for sure when you’ll need the services of the likes of some railroad accident attorneys in your life, this of course as just a specific example of many other unforeseen circumstances with mega financial implications to possibly befall you, so make sure you’ve adequately planned for them.

Financial services providers make it a bit easier to plan for such possibilities by offering services such as the various iterations of insurance – make use of them, wisely.

I’m Robert, the Grey Wanderer. After over 50 years in business, it was time for me to hang up my boots and enter the world of retirement. With so much time on my hands I decided to indulge in the two things I love most, writing and travel and so the Grey Wanderer was born.
